Long way to Nephi

Log Entry #4
Made it out of Ely after a great breakfast stop at the All Aboard Cafe next to the Railway Museum.
Heading to the Great Basin for a site seeing hike, then on to Nephi Utah!
My new lo-cal diet is underway!
Heading up to visitors center for the Great Basin.
They tell the story of the Prometheus tree!
In 1964 some Joker with chain saw cut down the oldest living tree of record!
Prometheus was almost 5,000 years old before its untimely demise.
This slice over 2,900 years old.
Heading up to the Wheeler peak trail head.
Nice place for a hike. Elevation 10,500.
I am standing at Delta Utahs "Shoemetheus" tree!
I think I see some Nike Air's up there.
